Amanzi Beach House is located in the small village of Umzumbe, one hundred kilometers to the South of Durban between the Mzumbe and Ingambili Rivers. This small village nestled in wild and thick dune forest, is believed to once be the home of a vicious group renegades, the Hlongwa. To mark this victory, he performed a Zulu custom of picking up a pebble, spitting on it and placing it back on the ground. Later the village grew around a farm known as Ballymuddle in the early part of the 20th Century. Today it falls between Hibberdene and the larger town of Port Shepstone Although Umzumbe has never been more than a sleepy beach town, it is worth noting for its shipwrecks, forests, nature reserves, meandering rivers, prime locations for adventure sports and historical sites both religious and cultural. Even though the weather was not the best, the house with it's stunning and comfortable furnishings provided for a relaxed and spoiled atmosphere that after busy days you still think about and long for. The view of the ocean and the dolphins playing in the water made this experience something to remember. House is gorgeous and beautifully set up to accommodate cooking for the family. Maid service was a plus so Mom could actually relax also! Highly recommended to any one that needs a break or holiday. The house has a full time caretaker who can assist with any needs or concerns. It’s here you’ll find the splash pool, which is the perfect spot for a sundowner! Perched on a dune right where the Umzumbe estuary opens into the sea, the natural endless beach landscape never gets boring as the tide constantly changes the lagoon and natural rock pools located mere minutes from the private deck. Located in Umzumbe, regarded as the best kept secret of the South Coast, you will find that you are spoilt for choice when it comes to attractions and activities. Our close proximity to KwaZulu Natal's top attractions, mean that whether you a nature enthusiast, adventure junky or just someone who wants to get away from it all, Umzumbe is the place to be. (As the drive is fairly steep, sports cars are not recommended). Freestanding Gas BBQ and build in wood fire place available on the deck area. You don’t have to go further than the beach to while away the day. For your peace of mind, the property is secured with a palisade fence, fully burglar barred and has an alarm system linked up to the local security company along with CCTV.
